With almost 40 years of experience, Alida is Founding Partner of Benedetti CL Abogados.  Throughout her career she has advised renowned local and international companies mainly in the areas of Corporate Law / Mergers and Acquisitions, Maritime Law, Maritime Litigations, Natural Mining and Resources, Privatizations and public contracts, Administrative, Commercial, Environmental, Banking and Financial Law, Real Estate, Foundations and Trusts and Telecommunications.

Her experience and contributions in the public sector have been prominent, occupying important positions such as a member of the Board of Directors of the Public Registry of Panama (2000-2004); Secretary of the Panamanian Maritime Law Association (1995-1996); Secretary of the Mining Chamber of Panama (1997-1998); and Advisor to the National Assembly. Likewise, she has been a member of the Editorial Council of La Prensa, one of the main means of written communication in Panama.

She is an active member of the Panama Bar Association, Panamanian Maritime Law Association, International Bar Association (IBA); Asia-Pacific Lawyer Association (APLA); Association Internationale Pour la Protection de la Propiét é Industrielle (AIPPI); Licensing Executive Society (LES); Interamerican Network of Specialists in Environmental Legislation (RIELA) and International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA).

Alida Benedetti is the author of articles on corporate issues for various publications in the legal area and is one of the Panamanian lawyers recognized as leader and Corporate Law and Natural Resources by the prestigious Chambers & Partners Latin America, Who’s Who Mining and Legal 500 rankings.
